New Years Eve Celebrations in the Florida Keys
With an expected influx of over 50,000 people and temperatures near 80 Key West will be hopping tonight. There will be fireworks, the dropping of the Conch Shell at Sloppy Joe’s, the lowering of the Pirate Wench from the top of the mast of the tall ship Liberty Clipper at the Historic Seaport and of course the Red Shoe drop carrying Drag Queen Sushi at the Bourbon Street Bar.
If you aren’t able to be here for the celebration CNN will be covering it live tonight and you can also log on live to any one of our many Keys web-cams. (Don’t forget to right click to zoom in!) At the top of the Keys Key Largo will be hosting the annual Fireworks at Blackwater Sound, MM 103-104. Best viewing will be from the Marriott Key Largo Beach Resort and the Caribbean Club. Always a crowd pleaser this is a great event if you would like to skip the “bar scene”.
